WorldCat day is August 8th!
(Let your boss know you’ll need the day off to celebrate information access! ; )
When you can’t find the book, album, or movie you want in our Minuteman Library Network catalog, and you can’t even find it in the statewide Commonwealth Catalog, you might be able to find it in WorldCat. WorldCat is an online catalog of resources held in libraries throughout the world. Ask a reference librarian to search it for you, or follow the steps below to search it yourself:
1. Start at the Minuteman Library Network catalog and click on “Research and Information” at the top.
3. For best results, choose “Jump to Advanced Search” by selecting WorldCat where it says “Select a Database to Search”:
4. If you know the title, enter it in a search field on the left and use the drop-down menu on the right to change to”title”. If you know the author, enter it in a search field on the left and change its drop-down menu to “author”. Browse the options and enter any information you know about the item. When you’re ready, click “Search”.
That’s it! You’ll be prompted to enter your name, and we’ll let you know when the item arrives at Robbins. If you ever have any questions about Interlibrary Loan, just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org!
